Without taking swift action to close or repair the massive rainwater-filled sinkhole on Dodangahahena Road in Gothatuwa, the relevant authorities are now passing the buck.
MP Lakshman Kiriella said the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has informed the Nilames and organizers of the Kandy Esala Perahera to deposit a sum of Rs. 13 million in order to supply an uninterrupted power supply for the festival.
