The draft of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution was tabled in Parliament by Justice Minister Ali Sabry a short while ago. The MPs of the main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya were seen displaying placards against the 20A.
MP Lakshman Kiriella said the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has informed the Nilames and organizers of the Kandy Esala Perahera to deposit a sum of Rs. 13 million in order to supply an uninterrupted power supply for the festival.
