PM Ranil Wickremesinghe in a statement says as a person who respects democracy he has decided to step down and to allow the new President to form a new government.
MP Lakshman Kiriella said the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has informed the Nilames and organizers of the Kandy Esala Perahera to deposit a sum of Rs. 13 million in order to supply an uninterrupted power supply for the festival.
